The guild ranking system is utilized so that we:
a) do not have ninjas join our guild and leave with our hard earned mats, gems, food, etc.
b) have officers on who can help get lower ranked guildies access to items they may need to raid
c) have officers who can help people with their classes/rotations/specs
d) have a system to distinguish what our members actually do in the guild
that being said, here is how ranking is decided.
1: Recruit - A recruit is a new member to the guild who we are currently either testing to raid with us, or just plain testing their loyalty. They cannot see any guild bank tabs and cannot withdraw anything as well, this protects us from people joining our guild merely to loot our gbank and leave.
2: Member - Members are our nonraiders, they are just our friends, family, etc. who wish to be in our guild but not necessarily take an active role in raiding. They have limited access to the gbank as it is used primarily for raid purposes, not because of any lack of trust we have for them. In terms of raiding members are more than welcome to raid with us, but a guildie of rank raider and up shall have priority over them as they are one of our regular raiders and have agreed to be on to the best of their ability on raid nights.
3: Junior Raider - Junior raiders are raiders who are not quite there yet. These raiders either have questionable dps, gear, or are not regularly available to raid. If you get demoted to junior raider do not take it as a slight, take it as an opportunity to improve yourself. Get with your class leader and find out what you could be doing in your rotation or gemming, or even gear choices. Junior Raiders are always welcome to be promoted, just show us that you have fixed whatever problem you were having by doing better while raiding and you will be bumped right up to raider status.
4: Raider - This is our primary guild rank, these our are raiders who go to raids with us on a regular basis. By being this rank you agree to being able to raid to the best of your ability on raid nights, whenever they may be. This does not mean you are at our beck and call, real life always takes priority. This is merely agreeing to try to raid with us and being able to make most raids. Raiders have access to the guild bank on all but the expensive tab, see guild bank rules for info on that. This is so that you can get mats for enchanting, food buffs, and gems/glyphs to complete your gear and do your best on raid nights.
5: Class Leader - A Class Leader is just that, the leader of their class. They are there to help you with your rotation, problems you might be experiencing while speccing, and help you to know what to gear for. A Class Leader is a raider and will be expected to adhere to all that the raider rank does. EDIT: Class Leaders is now a position denoted in officer note, not an actual guild rank.
-Officer Alt - Alternate toons of the officers in the guild, they have same privileges as their mains so don't hesitate to ask them for assistance.
6: Officer - An officer is an official of the guild, they are trusted with access to all tabs and know when to get things out of them in regards to giving them to raiders or using them for guild purposes. It is not impossible for those outside of the officer rank to be promoted to officer but they will have to show a special devotion to the guild and earn complete trust from all of us who are officer rank and up.
7: Co-Guild Master - This is the rank for me, Micheal Harvison, and Alex Hurdle, your gms. We have roughly the same power as the officers so don't consult us over them. All of our words are of equal import. This guild is a collection of friends, if we could have it our way there would be no designated gms but unfortunately wow guilds don't work that way. So in relation to the title, we are merely the founding members of the guild just like all the officers. Remember we're all here to raid and have fun, guild rank only designates how each one of us best fits into the guild.
